I would like to know a value of a 1 QT. stoneware jug marked "from Sams Saloon, Tripoli, Iowa". Also a salt glaze 1 gal. bottom marked "North Star" jug. It has a rim chip. Thank you Betty
Answer: Betty, a 1 qt stoneware jug marked Sams Saloon from Tripoli, Iowa is a nice piece of Red Wing Advertising. It books between $1,400 & $1,600. Qt size advertising pieces are hard to find. A one gallon North Star bottom signed with a rim chip would have a value in the area of $100 to $200. It all depends on how large the chip, and where it is located on the jug. Al Kohlman
