Question:
We were hoping you could help us. My wife and I have an older RedWing crock that is no longer shown on the Red Wing website and I was wondering if you could tell me anything about it, particularly it’s value. It is bail handled, 16" tall and 15" in diameter. It has a large "10" on the side, up near the rim. The logo is stamped in blue in an oval layout and reads: Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. ——– Red Wing, Minn It also has stamped in blue ink "Patented, Dec 21, 1944" (not sure of the last 4 – it is hard to read). It is in good shape, without chips or cracks. Thank you!

Answer: Your Red Wing 10 gallon crock’s patent date should read, Dec 21st, 1915. This was the patent date that Red Wing used went they applied handles to their crocks. Your 10 gallon Red Wing crock in mint condition is valued around $100. Al Kohlman
