Question:
I have a #9 mixing bowl. It’s whitish colored with 2 blue bands around the top. I know it’s redwing, I’ve seen many around and actually have 5 different sizes of this "pattern". But my question is about the #9 bowl. On the bottom area of the rim there is beveled-like cut outs. All the #9′s I’ve seen have this cut area, but no one can tell me why….. please help me with this frustrating question!!
Answer: This is a great question and I know exactly what you are referring to. However, I do not know the answer either, but thinking back, I also wondered why the bottom of the rim had beveled cut outs. Hopefully, someone who may know will read this question and supply me with an answer. If I do find out, I will post it for you. Al Kohlman
