Question:
I have this stoneware bowl. I believe it says on the bottom Red Wing Stoneware Co. I am not sure because the brown glaze has filled in most of the lettering. Can you tell if it is Red Wing? And if it is, when was it made and maybe how much it it worth? I would appreciate any help on this. Thank you so much for your time. Bobbie

Answer: Bobbie, from just seeing the bottom I cannot tell you for sure who may have made your bowl or as they are know "milk pan". Milk pans were very popular and made by every stoneware company out there. Red Wing had them in their catalogs starting in 1909. If your bowl is signed by Red Wing, the signature would most likely be "RWSCo". However, the Minnesota & Northstar Stoneware companies made them as well. So try and look a little closer and see it the signature looks like the RWSCo. Value on your signed bowl would be $50 to $70. Al Kohlman
