Question:
I have a 25 gallon wing crock with wooden handles, but no lid. I was given it for some work I did for a friend but do not know what glaze it is. He told me it was to hold cream. I don’t have a picture but looks like the ones on pg 51 of "Red wing stoneware" published by Dan PePasquale, Gail Peck, and Larry Peterson identification and value guide
ANswer: Your 25 gallon Red Wing crock is zinc glazed. The 25 gallon crocks have a value range in the area of $300 to $400 depending on condition and how well marked. Al Kohlman
