Question:
I picked this up on eBay and was wondering if you could tell me more about it. The seller thought it was a steamer insert. It is 6 3/4" at the top, 5 1/4" at the bottom and stands 6 1/2" tall. The bottom is impressed with a B and the side is stamped with a circle that might read "Red Wing Union – Stoneware Co. – Red Wing Minn" but it is quite dificult to read. It has a glazing blow out on the top, does that hurt it’s value. Thank you.

Answer: The seller was correct. It is a Red Wing Stoneware steamer insert. These were made in a number of different sizes. Your glazing blow out will not hurt it’s value to much. Value on this piece is between $35 to $50. Al Kohlman
