Question:
This butter churn was handed down from our grandparents. It stands 16 3/4 high. diameter of top is 9 1/2, It holds 5 gal of water. It has the wooden churn paddle which is 34" long. The bottom of the paddle is 2 crossed pcs. of wood 5" diameter. The stoneware lid is missing but there is a pc of wood in its place. The shaft of the paddle shows wear. There are 4 hairline cracks at the base of churn and 7 stains. There are no marking on the bottom, just signs of wear. If you have any questions or would like more photos please feel free to email us. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. Rebecca Hansen
Answer: Rebecca, your 5 gallon butter churn is not Red Wing. My best guess would be from an Ohio manufacturer. I am afraid that is about all I can tell you as I have no other information on your churn. Sorry. Al Kohlman
