Question:
I have a salt glaze crock that has some vertical white residue lines on it which I have often seen on the salt glaze pieces. When I wipe it down with a cloth that is just damp, the lines disappear. After a few minutes when it dries, they reappear again. I have uploaded a pic and you can see the lines on it. I figure that since I frequently see them on other pieces that you may know what they could be. Thank you!

Answer: Your white lines look to be lime deposits. What I have found that works the best for removing these is Lime-A-Way toilet bowl cleaner in the gel form. It needs to be effective against Rust, Calcium & Lime. Always wear vinyl gloves with using this product. Also, let the product sit on your crock for at least a minute or more, then using a green scratch pad, scrub your lime away. Hopefully this will help you out. Very nice looking double P!!!!!!!!
