Question:
I would like to know the date and approximate value of a creamer type piece. It is blue on the bottom that fades into white toward the top of the pitcher. It has a windmill on one side and a Dutch looking man and woman on the other. On the bottom it says "RED WING UNION STONEWARE CO. RED WING, MINN." The lettering is in blue and inside of a round blue circle. It is ~ 4" high and ~ 3 1/2" dia at the bottom. It has a handle and a pouring lip.
Answer: You have the Red Wing Dutch Boy & Girl pitcher. These pitchers were made in four sizes and I think you have the smallest of the four. These pitchers where manufactured in the late 1920s and early 1930′s. Very hard to find and have a book value between $1500 & $1800. Now that should put a smile on your face. Al Kohlman
