Question:
What is the best and safest way to clean my Redwing crocks? I have some that really shine and some that are dull. These are not salt glazed. Is there a cleaner/wax that I can safely use on them? Thanks.
Answer: If you want to just clean your crocks, I would & do use a dish detergent with a green scrub pad. If there is paint on any of your crocks, go ahead and use a paint stripper to remove it. If there is lime deposits from hard water, the best chemical I have found for removing lime is Lime-A-Way Gel Toilet bowl cleaner. The gel holds the cleaner to the crock and gives it time to dissolve the lime. All of these chemicals will not hurt the finish on these Red Wing Crocks. Just do not use anything like an Ajax Scouring Power, stand paper or wire brush that would actually scratch your finish. Al Kohlman
