Question:
I have a crock with lid for the top at the bottom however is a neck with a hole the writing on the front says (15 PERFECTION SANITARY SELF DRAINING JARS) The lettering is in blue with a blue line around it. I am assuming the 15 is for the size it is quite large. No one has been able to tell me what it was used for. Thanks Tammie

Answer: Tammie, these Red Wing Perfection self draining jars were used in laboratories, dairies and hardware stores. They were used for storing chemicals that were mixed in these self drainers then dispensed. In my early years of collecting, I picked up a 60 gallon Red Wing Perfection self draining jar that was used for mixing window cleaner at a Janitorial supply company. The owner used to make his own window cleaner in this crock and then dispense it in his own bottles. They are still in business today, but purchase their window cleaner from a wholesaler. Hope this answers your question. Al Kohlman
