Question:
I found a 20 gallon red wing crock in mint condition, no chips or cracks. However, there was a stamp that stated patened december 17, 1909 in an oval in blue ink on the side of the crock by the handles. Does this mean that this is a reproduction, or newer crock vs an old crock?

Answer: I think your patent date on the side of your crock reads Dec 21st, 1915. These stamps are sometimes a bit smeary so you may want to take a closer look. With this patent date your 20 gallon Red Wing crock is an orginal and not a reproduction. Al Kohlman
