Question:
I have found a 50 gallon Red Wing Crock. This crock has the big red wing that looks like a normal red wing crock does, it has a drain in the bottom, this drain looks metal and the bottom of the crock kind of bulges so it drains. I am assuming that this must be the top of a 50 gal Success Filter. I had never seen one before and would like to know the value in good condition. Also, is this what I think it is? Jerry

Answer: Jerry, you found yourself a Red Wing 50 gallon self draining jar. These large self draining jars were used by large dairies, hardware stores and chemical companies for storing and dispensing chemicals. In mint condition, I have seen these jars sell between $700 & $1000. Al Kohlman
