Here is a picture of a Red Wing slop jar I purchased last year at an auction sale. It is bottom stamped RWSCo. No one I have taked to has ever seen one before. Can you give me any information about it? It stands approx. 11 inches high and 9 in. in diameter at the top. Do you have any guess of the value? Thank you, Brian

Answer: Brian, Red Wing Stoneware Company produced their slop jars along with their chamber pots. Chamber pots and toiletry basins were emptied in to a slop jar to save trips to empty them. For a while, a signed slop jar was never found, but in the past years the sign slop jars have appeared. Signed slop jars sell in the range of $100 or so. Al Kohlman
