Question:
I have a pot or jug in my possession that is approximately 17 inches high with the following markings: the number 12 in blue ink and a seal that states Red Wing Union Pottery Company, Red Wing Minn. It also states Patented December 21, 1915. What can you tell me about this piece. I am moving this June and am trying to determine if I should move the piece with me or possibly sell it.

Answer: Your 12 gallon crock was manufactured by the Red Wing Stoneware Company sometime after 1915 and before 1947. In mint condition it would have a value between $150 and $200. Any damage would reduce it’s value. Hope this information helps you with your decision on what to do with your crock. Al Kohlman
