This item is not marked Red Wing but as you can see it does have the lid that matches..someone told me the chances are high it is…plz help Thanks Eric

 

Answer: Eric, the 10 gallon Perfection Self Draining Jar is Red Wing. Red Wing manufactured these self drainers beginning around 1915. They were used by dairies, chemical companies, drug & hardware stores etc. Now the lid I am not quite sure of. If there are petals around the top of the lid between the rim and where the bail handle would go, then it is Red Wing. From the photo, I cannot tell if there are petals. If no petals, the lid is mostly Western. Also, if there are petals, many times Red Wing stamped the gallonage number in one of the petals. That number ex: 10 would mean the lid fits a 10 gallon crock. Hope this helps. Al Kohlman
