Question:
Hi, I purchased a 3 gal stoneware crock, and am wondering who the maker is and what the value would be. It stands 11 inches tall, and is 101/2 inches across. On the front is a mark that is a blue crown with a 3 written inside the crown. The top edge is unglazed, and the inside is glazed a rich brown. The outside is an oatmeal color. The bottom is incised by hand 3 gal and USA. The original price is written on the bottom in grease pencil, and it says $14.99. I can send along a picture if needed, but don’t have one right now. Thanks for your help. Connie

Answer: Connie, your crock was manufactured in Ohio and these crocks are still made today. We have a number of hardware and landscaping stores in our neighborhood that have these Crown crocks for sale. With this company still in business, there is little to no demand for these crocks from collectors. The value of your crock would be in the $20 to $25 range. Al Kohlman
