Question:
I am trying to find the value of my mother’s Red Wing 15 gallon crock. We used it to make sauerkraut and pickles.

Answer: I see from the photo that there is a hairline going through the patent date of your mothers crock. Hairlines and cracks on these zinc glazed wing crocks greatly reduce their value. Also the size of the wing (would be either a 6" or 4 1/2") wing on the crock would help determine value as well. The larger the wing the greater the (demand) value. Not knowing the length of the hairline or size of the wing, the value will be in the area of $40 to $80. If your hairline does not extend any further than the photo shows and there are no other hairlines cracks or chips, the value could be a little higher. Hope this was of some help. Al Kohlman
