Answer: Hello Roy. From what I can see of the back base of the handle, it looks like your jug may not be Red Wing. When the potters applied the handles to the base of the jugs, they use their two thumbs on each side of the handle to press it into the clay while pulling each thumb away from each other. Now I cannot see enough of the base to say for sure, but this is my best guess. Many of the other potteries applied thumb pressure in the center of the base of the handle. This is one way to help you identify these salt glaze jugs. Now even if the jug is not Red Wing, the value will still remain about the same with this decoration. Al Kohlman
