Question:
This question is for Al Kohlman. I asked a question last week about a posible Red Wing spitoon. You answered back and wanted to see some pictures. So here they are a few. I have more as well. I had found a picture and a discription that matched this spitoon in an antiques and collectibles book that said it was made by Red Wing. There are no markings on it so I’m not sure. Any help will be appreciated.

Answer: Your spittoon is a Red Wing White "German" Spittoon. These White German spittoons were manufactured beginning in 1895 to the early 1920′s before changing styles. In mint condition with excellent embossed designs, they can bring $800 to $850. I see yours has a base chip and your embossing is not as pronounced as some. With this being said, I would place the value on your Red Wing Spittoon in the area of $400. Al Kohlman
