Question:
I have a broken 30 gallon Red Wing. How can I glue it just for decoration and can it be fixed properly?? Thanks Steve

Answer: Steve, the best way I have found to repair a crack in a large piece of Stoneware is to use "Liquid" superglue (not the gel). Try to separate the crack enough to get the superglue into the crack. When this is done, you will need to apply a tourniquet around the crock to pull the crack together. If the crack is long, you may need to use up to three tourniquets to pull the entire crack together. Leave the tourniquets on for 24 hours. Also, if the superglue runs on the side of the crock, do not try and wipe it off. Just let it dry. If you wipe it, it will leave a white residue on the crock. After the 24 hours, remove the tourniquets, then using a razor blade, scrape off the dried super glue that has run on the side of the crock. Al Kohlman
