Question:
I have collected Redwing Capistrano Dinnerware, I see you’ve answered all the questions concerning it, but have not seen you mention the trivet. A friend purchased it for me at a R.W. convention in the 80′s and was told then that it’s a rare piece and very collectable. Is this the case and what is it worth? Thank-you

Answer: Trivets in any Red Wing dinnerware pattern are scarce because they were produced for only two years. They were made for most of the patterns available in the years 1958 and 1959. One notable exception is Round Up, for which no trivet is listed in the 1958 or 1959 catalogs. A Capistrano trivet in excellent condition would be worth $125 to $150.
