Question:
I have an oval platter about 15 in long, it says Redwing on the back but nothing else. It is a beige glaze and the design is of adult birds with young, the birds’ colors are browns and blues. the center of the platter is mostly empty of design, I believe it could be from the 50s or 60s Joan

ANSWER: The name of this pattern is Bob White, and it was Red Wing’s most popular dinnerware pattern. Bob White was introduced in 1954 and was made until the business closed in 1967. Bob White platters were available in two sizes. The 13 inch platter had one adult Bob White bird on the left side and one chick on the right. The 20 inch platter had an adult and three chicks on the left side and two chicks on the right. The 20 inch platter has two large circles on the bottom and was designed to be used with a metal stand with two warmers. The 13 inch platter is worth $20-25; the 20 inch platter is worth $30-40 without the warming stand. All values assume excellent condition.
