Question:
Have a 13" long piece, 7.5" wide, dark egg-shell in color, a reverse-crescent(like an elongated "S")shape, with a divider in the middle, much like a relish bowl, with what appears to be a hand-painted oriental gray and blue tree design in the bowls. Has "Red Wing USA" makers mark on the bottom. Small chip on underside…no noticeable cracks. Could not locate piece on the Red Wing site. Help with value and a buyer, please. Steffan

Answer: (A photo of this item was provided separately.) Your item is a divided vegetable dish in the Driftwood pattern. Driftwood was produced from 1955 to 1961. As the name implies, the artwork brings to mind pieces of driftwood. The pattern is fairly common and is of moderate interest to collectors. Value for a Driftwood divided vegetable dish in excellent condition would be $20-25. The chip will likely reduce the value by half. Sorry but we are not in the business of matching buyers and sellers. The FAQ section in the green area at the top of this page has general advice on selling Red Wing.
