Question:
I bought this Redwing Piece at a flea market recently but haven’t seen a piece like it EVER. Can you tell me how much it might be worth? There is a small chip on the pour spout and a crack in the glaze at the bottom of the pot. Carmen

Answer: I cannot identify your item without additional details. It is a covered casserole, most likely from the Provincial Bake Ware line made in he 1960s. Casseroles were made in three sizes for this line and the bottom was marked RED WING USA along with an identifying three digit number. Red Wing made a very similar cookware line in the early 1940s named Provincial Cooking Ware. Nine different deep and shallow casseroles were made for this line. These casseroles were marked on the side of the piece and included a two digit number that identified the item. Not many collectors are interested in cookware sets so values are rather low. The value for your casserole would be in the range of $15-25 if it were in excellent condition. The damage you described will reduce the value by at least half.
