Question:
Have 2 bowls inherited from my Mom. Both in good condition. Would like to know more about them and a rough value. Large bowl measures 10" across x 4 3/4 high. Small 8" x 4 1/4. Large one has the "10" with "REDWING" below it on the bottom. Thanks for any help! All the best, Pam

Answer: The photo shows the green interior of your bowls. The exteriors should be dark brown with a broad green rim around the top. If so, these are mixing bowls from the Bakeware pattern. Most collectors know this pattern as "Oomph", a name that because associated with the pattern because a Red Wing brochure featured the slogan "Red Wing puts the OOMPH into earthenware". Bakeware was made during the World War II years, from 1943 to the mid-1940s. Bakeware mixing bowls were available in three sizes: 6, 8 and 10 inch. Assuming the bowls are in excellent, undamaged condition they would be worth around $20 to $30 each.
