Question:
While cleaning out my Father’s garage after he passed away, we came across these dishes tucked away in a cabinet. I have 4 sets of the Red Wing Bob White(dove) Collection cup, saucer and cereal bowl in their original boxes and packaging, never used. Does this increase the value of the dishes? THanks Tammi

Answer:

Original packaging increases collector interest and the value for any collectible. Red Wing packaging isn’t rare but it isn’t easily found, especially in good condition. More of it seems to be coming on the market in recent years as attics and storage spaces are cleaned out by the younger generation. Of course condition of the box is an important factor. Original boxes in very good to excellent condition that contain a Bob White cup, saucer and dinner plate sell for $50-75. The value is less if the box has tears, holes, stains or other damage. I’ve not seen packaging that includes a cup, saucer and bowl as you’ve described but the value would be similar.
