Question:
I have a nesting bowl set I would like to sale. They are unmarked, but I think I have seen them at antique stores with the tags saying they are Red Wing. There are 5 bowls and I maeasured the top across- Yellow-chip on rim, crazing inside, 9–1/4, Turqoise/green- 7-7/8, wear on bottom, good shape, cobalt- 7-1/8, wear on bottom, good shape, cream-6-1/4, crazing and darkening inside and wear on bottom, brown- 5/1/4, hair line crack inside, doesn’t show on outside of bowl, slight wear on bottom. Could you tell me if they are red wing and about how much I could sell them for? They have vertical lines. Cindi

Answer: – the only photo here is the interior of a yellow bowl, which provides no clue as the identity of the bowl. The "vertical lines" could be Reed or they could be something else entirely different. LOTS of potteries made LOTS of bowls. In order to confrim your bowls are Red Wing, please send a side view photo of your bowls to director@redwingcollectors.org.
