Question:
I received a 11-1/2 in. tall Red Wing pitcher with three cowboys. Two of them are wrestling a bull. There is a small chip on the inside lip, to the left of the handle. Could you please provide information on the image, age and approximate value. Thank you. Mike
Answer: The name of this pattern is Round Up and it is one of the more highly sought Red Wing dinnerware patterns. All pieces in this pattern are decorated with cowboys and western scenes. Round Up was introduced in 1958 and was made into the mid 1960s. The piece in the photo is the 60oz water pitcher. In excellent undamaged condition this pitcher would be worth $150 to $200. The chip will reduce the value by about half, depending on the chip’s size and visibility.
