Question:
I was recently helping my mother clean out her cupboards and closets of old unneeded stuffs and came across the "Katrina" cookie jar in Yellow. It is in immaculate condition with no chips or cracks. She was originally going to put it in a garage sale next summer but I thought it looked of value. What is the estimated value? Thank you Daniel

Answer: The yellow Katrina jar is an interesting piece but quite common. Red Wing made many thousands of these jars from 1941 and into the early 1950s. In near perfect condition a yellow Katrina cookie jar may be worth $75-100. Staining is a common problem with these jars and would reduce the value significantly, even in the absence of chips or cracks.
