Question:
I have a Village Green pot, brown base approx. 12" tall, 8"diameter, with a green cover. Glazes appear undamaged, no crackling or chips. Bottom is marked "Red Wing" "USA". Photos of inside and under side available if necessary. Could you tell me what it is, was used for, and approx. value? Thank you much. Neil
Answer:
You have a Village Green bean pot. These were made in two sizes, 2 quart and 4 quart. If the dimensions provided are accurate yours is the larger 4 quart size, which is quite difficult to find. A 4 quart Village Green bean pot in excellent condition would be worth $75-100 to a collector.
