Question:
Hi– I have some dinnerware — Redwing Pottery Concord Lexington Pattern. I have the following pieces:
gravy bowl
covered sugar bowl
creamer
covered soup dish/vegetable dish
2 serving bowls;
1 large serving platter;
9 cups;
13 saucers;
11 dinner plates;
14 small plates;
12 dessert bowls.
Would you please be able to tell me what they would be worth and is there a "want" for this. Thank you so much! Betty
Answer:
Lexington was made from 1941 to 1955. The pattern sold well in its day and there certainly are collectors of this pattern now. But in general the supply exceeds collector demand, especially for basic place setting pieces, so values are not high. New pieces were added to the Concord line in the late 1940s and 1950s. Since these items added late in Lexington’s production life they are less common and hold comparatively greater value. Examples include the beverage server, egg plate and spoon rest.
Most of the plates, bowls, cups and saucers are worth $5-10 each. Dinner plates, sugar bowl with cover, creamer: $10-15. Serving bowl (nappy) and gravy boat: $15-20. Covered soup/vegetable dish (casserole): $20-25. Standard 13 x 10.5 inch platter: $15-20. Hard to find 14 x 10.5 inch platter: $40-50. All values assume excellent condition.
