Question:
We have a bowl platter set that has purpleish and grenn leaf pattern. Bowl is oval shaped and divided in half. Platter is 12 1/2" and bowl is 11 3/4" in length. The under side on both is a solid purplish blue. There is no chips or scratches on either. The bowl has no printing on it, but the platter has RED WING HAND PAINTED ovenproof U.S.A. 219. What do we have and what might it be worth. Thank You
Answer:
I am unable to make a positive identification from the descriptions provided; a photo would be very helpful. My best guess is these pieces are the 13" platter and divided vegetable dish from the Mediterrania dinnerware pattern, one of the True China patterns produced in the late 1950′s and early 1960s. These pieces would be worth $20 to $25 each, assuming excellent condition.
You can visit www.RedWingDinnerware.com to confirm your pattern.
