Question:
I recently purchased this teapot, creamer and sugar at an auction. I was wondering what the pattern is called and when it was made. I have not seen one like it on any of the sites. Lisa

Answer:

In the mid to late 1940s Red Wing produced three tea sets, each consisting of a matching teapot, sugar and creamer. These sets do not belong to any dinnerware pattern, they are simply stand-alone tea sets. To my knowledge these tea sets have not been identified in a Red Wing catalog or price list so we don’t know their official names. I would put the value for this set in the $40 to $50 range, assuming excellent condition. While this set is not easily found it also does not seem to be in high demand by collectors, probably because it is not part of a full dinnerware pattern.
