Question:
I just found Two small redwing pots they are about 3in tall and 3in wide and look like a pine cone. They are glazed light green one is in perfict condition the other has a small hair line crack. Only one is marked redwing on the bottom. The other is plain. Does any one know when and were they were maid and posible value Thanks Tim
Answer: Hi Tim, these may be dinnerware, pineapples? perhaps? a pic would be of great help. thanks, steve n rose
The description does not provide enough information to verify this piece. A photo would resolve this problem. Steve n Rose’s suggestion that the shape may be a pineapple seems likely If so, then there are several pineapple shaped items in the Gypsy Trail dinnerware line. The pineapple marmalade jar would be fairly close to the dimensions given. If so, the pieces should each have a cover. There also may or may not be an attached tray (two versions were made). These were made in the early 1940s. If we have guessed the correct item, the value would be $20-30 for an example in excellent condition complete with cover. Damage reduces the value significantly; jars without a cover are worth very little.
