Question:
I was wondering if you can tell me how much my set of Redwing China – Golden Viking pattern 1956 – is worth. It was handed down to me by an old family friend, and was originally purchases for her as a wedding gift by the Dodge brothers in Detroit, MI. I appreciate your help! Piece Sugar Bowl w/Lid 2 Platter-Large 1 Bread & Butter Plate 12 Tea Pot 1 Vegetable Bowl (Oval) 2 Dinner Plate 10 Salt & Pepper Set 2 Expresso Cup & Saucer 10 Salad Plate 7 Fruit Bowl 10 Relish Dish 1 Vegetable Bowl – Divided 1 Cereal Bowl 10 Pitcher-Small 1 Gravy Boat 1 Saucer Only 1

Answer:
Your Golden Viking set is very nice and fairly complete. It would be relatively easy to add the pieces that are missing to make this a complete set. Finding pieces of Golden Viking can be challenging but the pattern is not rare.

As for value, it depends on the condition of the pieces and whether you are buying or selling. Retail value for this set would be in the range of $700-1000 if all pieces are in excellent condition. The 12" salad bowl (top left shelf in the photo), teapot and 1 quart pitcher are the most valuable individual items in this set.
