Question:
measures 5 1/4" X 5 1/4", 1 1/4" deep. i have attached a pic of the top of the bowl. i am sending a second form showing the bottom of the bowl. I inherited 6 of these bowls from an aunt, (found in a box of forest green dinnerware plates and cups, that have no marking on the bottoms). when was this pattern produced? was it part of a set? intended use for this particular bowl? if i would want to sell it, is it considered collectible? thanks for any info that you can provide.

Answer: Your dishes are from Red Wing’s Chrysanthmum dinnerware pattern. Chrysanthemum was introduced in the late 1940s and made into the mid-1950s and a full range of dinnerware pieces were produced in this pattern. Your dish is a sauce or fruit dish (small bowl). Your forest green plates and cups are not a part of the Chrysanthemum pattern but could be Red Wing as pieces in the same shape were made in forest green and other solid colors. Chysanthemum sauce dishes are collectible but would not have a high value. They are worth about $10 each in excellent condition.
