Question:
Iam selling this item on eBay and a viewer informed me it was Redwing possibly Concord pattern. Is there any way to identify this piece? Is $50 an ok price? Thank you Martha

Answer: Concord is a line of Red Wing dinnerware, and there are 20 different patterns in the Concord shape. You have a chartreuse water pitcher in the Concord shape. Most patterns in the Concord line use solid-colored accessory pieces. Several different colors could be used with each pattern, and each color could be used with several patterns. Magnolia, Lotus and Iris are among the patterns that offered chartreuse accessory pieces.

Most solid-colored accessory pieces in the Concord shape have no identifying marks. Like any other unmarked pottery, a person needs experience and study to recognize unmarked Red Wing. Photos of unmarked Red Wing items can be found in several reference books and on the Red Wing Dinnerware website. But photos can’t compare with the real thing. Hands-on experiences such as shows, auctions, sales, collector meetings, etc. help clarify and strengthen the knowledge gained from references photos.

As for value, chartreuse Concord water pitchers are relatively common. $50 would be at the upper end of the range for this pitcher. I’d place the value for this pitcher in the $30 to $50 range, assuming excellent condition (no damage or flaws).
