Question: Top, 3 1/2" inside diameter at the Top and 2 7/8" diameter at the raised bottom. It is stamped on the bottom: RED WING USA. Can you tell me if it is Red Wing Pottery/Stoneware and the name of the pattern. Have not been able to find it on my usual reference sites. Thanks Lorne

Answer: Lorne, your bowl was indeed made by Red Wing Potteries. The pattern is Village Green and the bowl is a marmite (individual-size casserole). The sugar bowl has loop handles on the side of the bowl. The marmite should have a pale green cover with a spiral-shaped knob handle. Village Green marmites were available in two styles: either with or without a stick handle. Yours is the style without the handle.
