Question:
These are Red Wing items from our family that we would like to identify and value. The brown stand with the removeable candle holder which we assume was to keep a bean pot?? warm has a number 879 on the bottom. It has a chip on the bottom edge.We don’t think the pitcher with it has any connection but is probably handmade by an individual. The pink vase that is partly hidden is number 1622. Thanks for your help! Gail Lind

Answer: You have a Village Green warming stand. The candle holder fits in the center of the stand. As you stated, this set is used to keep things warm. The warming stand could be used with a bean pot, coffee server, teapot, a small casserole, etc. The stand was available in two sizes — large and small. Value for the set in excellent condition would be around $40. The chip on your stand will reduce the value, but having the original warmer insert (candle holder) is a plus as many of them got lost over the years.

The pitcher was not made by Red Wing.
