I am liquidating Mother’s collections, would you be so kind as to give me an approximate estimate of the value of these pieces? Red Wing Lotus pattern – 6 cups, saucers, 4 desert plates 5 salad plates, 7 dinner plates (1 is broken) 3 stacking bowls, gravy boat, sugar & creamer, coffee and tea pots. The prices listed below were provided by Larry Roschen in response to a previous question for Lotus with Metallic hollowware.
Cups & Saucers $10-15 per pair
6” Plates $5-10
7” Plates $5-10
10” Plates $10-15 (the broken one has no $ value)
Stacking Bowls (I assume that they are the handled bowls shown in the picture. Red Wing called them Casseroles without Covers or Vegetable Dishes) $5 or less
Gravy Boat $15-20
Sugar $15
I am providing the pricing below.
Beverage Server (If it had a cover $75-90) No cover $10
Tea Pot (If it had a cover $65-95) No cover $10-15
Covers are not easy to find hence the low value for the Beverage Server and the Tea Pot. However, Metallic hollowware was also sold to accompany Magnolia, Chrysanthemum, and Morning-glory. The only difference was the decoration on the lid so you would have a more valuable item if you could find any of these lids.
The creamer is not Lotus but instead is Town & Country and more valuable than Lotus.
A Lotus creamer would be valued at $10-15. The T&C you have is valued at $30-50 and much more in demand.
Prices assume excellent condition. Any defects will substantially reduce the value since Lotus is very easy to find.
