Question:
Hi; I obtained a marked Red Wing Union Stoneware vase with an indentation of what looks like the # 183. It is glazed and is very dark cobalt blue. It is approximately 8" tall with a 2 3/4" lip diameter. It appears to be in perfect condition. The ‘Red Wing’ logo is stamped in blue and as stated the number is indented into the stoneware. I appreciate your help in this matter very much so! Thanks, Sincerely Carol
Answer: Hi Carol
this one is from around 1930. We call the glaze dark blue, or cobalt blue. One of the earlier shapes for artware. Value is around 90.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose
