Question:
Hello I found it in a friends barn, I think it was used as a flower vase, I have used it as a candle holder and unfortunately the candles have stained the bottom, can the stains be removed safely? It measures 12 inches from one rounded corner stright across to the other corner, if you were to measure digagonal its 15 inches across, it’s 2 1/4 inches tall. It is a turquoise glaze on the outside and inside is antique white/cream. It is like a rounded square with the sides folded inwards, it has the age crackle inside along with the candle stain, and there is what looks like a crack on the inside and outside, but you can’t feel it. On the bottom under the glaze is the number 1306 under the number is the name RED WING and under that is USA. Thank you for any information you can give me. Thank you Nadine

Answer: Hello Nadine

this is actually a console bowl, from around 1947. It is quite durable, it can be scrubbed, and some stains can be removed with hydrogen peroxide, like what’s used by beauty salons. Value is around 20.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose
