Question:
I purchased a Red Wing small pitcher at an antique store in Calvert, Texas. It is a smokey white colore with what looks like a raised dogwood single flower on one side of it. The flower has 5 leaves around it and a stem with a lead on the stem. The entire raised design in etched with a darkish brown (sort of outlining the entire flower). The pitcher has a scalloped spout and a delicate handle. On the bottom of the vase it says "RED WING USA 1012". Can you tell me if this sounds authentic and what it might be worth. It is glazed with a smooth, nonglossy finish.

ANswer: It is indeed authentic, part of the Magnolia line, circA 1940. the glaze is antiqued ivory. Value is around 40.00 or so.
