Question:
Thank you for your answers to the questions I had about Red Wing Artware pieces 1216 and 723-S. You mentioned that the "jolly jar" has 3 distinct patterns, and not green. I’m sorry, but what do you mean by an aftermarket piece? The bottom mark on the covered green piece is "Red Wing" USA with the number 723-S which is the same number that identifies the "jolly jar". I’m not familiar with the terminology "aftermarket". Thank you in advance for your explanation. Susan
Answer: Hi Susan, some molds of Red Wing were sold to other companies, or "hobby shops" where they were remade and glazed in any number of colors. The markings are still there, they just weren’t made by Red Wing. Hope I haven’t confused you more!! thanks, steve n rose
