Question:
I have a 12 inch – large vase or umbrella stand -green brushware. Bottom two thirds rather plain -top third has a wildlife motif of large standing bird – looks like a stork or swan standing in a shallow pool – one side the bird is standing upright – other side it is drinking water. Stamp on bottom is round and says Red Wing Union Stoneware CO. Red Wing, Minn. Thanks

Answer: Hello, this is the Heron vase, shape #144. These seem to be coming out of the woodwork lately! It’s from the brushed ware line, circa 1930. It is the largest of three sizes made in this shape. Value is around 150.00 or so. hope this helps, thanks, steve n rose
