Question: {mosimage}

Hello, my mother recently passed away and among her things I found what appears to be a Red Wing donkey ash receiver. Its a brownish-orange color, 4 3/4" tall, at the widest points of its base it is 2 1/4" by 2 3/4". On the base "RED WING" is carved into it, as well as the number "876" above and to the right of "RED WING." It is in perfect condition with no chips or scratches. I would greatly appreciate any information you might have available concerning this piece. Thanks Dorene

Answer:
Hi Dorene, Your #876 donkey belongs in a series of six different animals, circa 1939. Originally they were thought to be ash recievers, but recently it has come to light they were actually small bud vases. They are prized by collectors, and average a price of around $150.00 or so. thanks, Steve n Rose
