Red Wing Pottery Road Show

Sunday, May 18th

1pm to 4pm

RED WING POTTERY MUSEUM
Pottery Place Mall, Red Wing

The RWCS Business office located in the Historic Pottery Place mall has seen a resurgence of inquiries regarding Red Wing Pottery information, both online through its “Ask the Experts” service and individual contacts through phone and email.
The RWCS website, www.RedWingCollectors.org, has always had an Ask the Experts service. This free service gives visitors to the RWCS website the opportunity to post a question, description and picture of their piece to the website for the experts to provide piece information via the website. The response is posted back to the website by RWCS member experts in stoneware, dinnerware and art pottery.
In the past several months, there has been a significant increase of contact to RWCS Business office from the local Red Wing community. Residents of Red Wing and nearby communities are contacting the office regularly with questions on value, repair, care, selling and adding pieces to their collections. These inquires are not just about the famous Red Wing Stoneware, but also dinnerware and art pottery values.
“We are receiving more calls from the greater Red Wing area then ever before with questions about pieces of Red Wing history” said Stacy Wegner, executive director.
Due to the frequency of inquires, the Red Wing Collectors Society is collaborating with its sister organization, the RWCS Foundation (The Pottery Museum) and members of the local RWCS Chapter, the Cannon Valley Collectors Club, to hold the Red Wing Pottery Road Show.
Like the famous PBS show, “Antiques Road Show,” experts from the Red Wing Collectors Society will be available to give free help in identifying pieces of Red Wing, providing production information, giving estimates for insurance purposes, and answering any other questions people may have.
Do you have a piece of Red Wing in your possession and want to know what it’s worth? Bring it to the RWCS Red Wing Pottery Road Show this May! The event is set for Sunday, May 18 from 1 to 4 p.m. in The Pottery Museum on the 2nd floor of Pottery Place, 2000 Old West Main, Red Wing, MN.
