Is it unusual for 8 gallon crocks to have a black numbers on them above the red wings? All of the numbers in our collection have blue stamped numbers above the red wings. We were just curious if this had something to do with the age/value. Shannon

Answer: Shannon, most of the crock you find with a Red Wing on them have their gallon-age & ovals in blue ink. However, though not often, we do find these crocks in all sizes with the gallon-age & ovals in black ink. Have never heard a reason why the black ink versus the blue. Al Kohlman
