Question:
Hello, I found a 10 gallon crock on the side of the road complete with a lid. The crock has a large #10 on it in blue along with the red wing under it as well as the red wing stone ware stamp beneath it. The crock has wire with wooden handles on it. The lid fits on top and has a flower with a short handle on the top along with a 10 stamped into one of the petals of the flower. The lid is chipped in two places which is why I believe it was on the side of the road. The crock however is in perfect condition. I was wondering where I could find more information on it because I’ve never seen one as large as this one and how much it was worth including the lid. Thanks. Mick
AnswerL Mick, a 10 gallon Red Wing crock in perfect condition has a value between $100 & $150. With the wire handles, the 10 gallon crock was produced between 1915 & 1947. The chipped 10 gallon lid would have a value around $50 or so. Hope this is what you were looking for. Al Kohlman
